Four-way Egyptian-Sudanese meeting kicks off in Cairo

Thursday، 08 February 2018 - 02:44 PM

A four-way meeting featuring the Egyptian and Sudanese foreign ministers and heads of the intelligence services started on Thursday 8/2/2018 to tackle bilateral relations and consultation on several regional issues of mutual concern.

The Egyptian-Sudanese talks involve a tete-a-tete session between Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Sudanese counterpart Ibrahim Ghandour and a separate session between the two intelligence chiefs ahead of the four-way meeting.

It is to be followed by a joint press conference to be given by the foreign ministers.

The meeting is held in implementation of directives by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Sudanese counterpart Omar al Bashir after their latest meeting on the sidelines of the African Union summit, held in Addis Ababa.

They agreed on establishing a four-way consultative mechanism including the foreign ministries and the intelligence services in both countries in order to enhance solidarity and cooperation between Cairo and Khartoum.
