Chairman of the Syndicate of Journalists Abdel Mohsen Salama voiced the syndicate's full support for the Armed Forces and police in their comprehensive military operation, launched on Friday to eradicate terrorism in Sinai.
In a statement to MENA, Salama said that fight against terrorism is more dangerous than wars between regular armies, therefore the entire Egyptian press is demanded to reaffirm their support to the Armed Forces in view of the current operation.
Operation Sinai 2018 comes in implementation of the directives issued by Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces to Chief of Staff Mohamed Farid and Minister of Interior Magdy Abdel Ghaffar to restore security in Sinai within three months, Salama added.
Salama pointed out that the operation falls within the framework of the ongoing fight against terrorism that has been started since July 2013.
