Egypt urges anti-Daesh coalition to tighten noose on terrorists

Tuesday، 13 February 2018 - 03:07 PM

Egypt has urged members of the international coalition that fights Daesh terrorist group to cooperate on drying up sources of finance to terror groups, closing their safe havens in some countries and halting communications between their members.

Addressing a ministerial meeting of the coalition in Kuwait on Tuesday 13/2/2018, Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Mohamed el Badry said the defeat of Daesh in Iraq and Syria did not put an end to the danger of the group.

He pointed to Egypt's viewpoint on the importance of dealing decisively with terror groups through cutting off their finances and communication networks and depriving them of their safe havens.

The Egyptian diplomat praised efforts exerted to confront Daesh extremist speech on the internet and also hailed efforts to reconstruct Iraq following the defeat of the group.
