Sisi lauds efforts of Armed Forces, police to protect homeland

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Saturday 17/2/2018 Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Tarek Amer.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of defense, housing, electricity, interior, petroleum, justice, civil aviation, irrigation, supply, the acting director of General Intelligence Service and the chairman of the Administrative Control Authority.
Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said the meeting focused on the latest developments of the Comprehensive Operation Sinai 2018" in view of the efforts aimed to eliminate terrorist elements and hotbeds as well as to destroy a large number of hideouts and weapons depots used by the terrorist groups.
Sisi lauded efforts of the Armed Forces and police to protect the homeland, and gave orders to continue the joint efforts among all competent bodies to guarantee the full implementation of the military operation’s objectives and ensure the safety of the civilians in the areas of the security operations and nationwide, Rady said.
The meeting touched on the situation of the economic reform program and sustainable development in light of the CBE’s latest decision to cut interest rates by one percent, to cope with the state’s efforts meant to contain the inflationary pressures, Rady stated.
Sisi ordered officials to go ahead with carrying out the full economic reform program to ensure maintaining positive consequences recently achieved, especially in view of increasing growth rates and job opportunities as well as reduction of the budget and trade balance deficit, Rady further said.
Sisi also reviewed the government’s efforts to provide basic commodities for citizens.
The meeting also took up progress in the implementation of current national projects in different sectors.
