Egypt's State Information Service (SIS) Press Center of Foreign Reporters approved on Thursday 22/02/2018 a number of 680 foreign reporters to cover the upcoming Egyptian presidential elections, set to take place on March 26-28.

The 680 foreign reporters, including 540 resident reporters and 140 visiting reporters, represent newspapers, news agencies and television networks from the United States, the European Union as well as Arab and African media outlets.

Upon directives of SIS Chairman Deyaa Rashwan, the General Director of the Press Center of Foreign Reporters Mohamed Emam formed a committee to check the requests of the various media representatives to cover the upcoming presidential elections. The Center will follow up registration of reporters' data according to the multi-language registration manual issued by the National Elections Authority (NEA), reply all inquiries and remove any obstacle that may face reporters during registration of data.

Permits of the media coverage of the presidential elections in all Egyptian governorates will be issued after finalization of registration on NEA e-portal.

Meanwhile, the SIS Press Center has briefed the reporters on the rules regulating the media coverage of the elections according to NEA decisions.
