FM, Abul Gheit head to Brussels to attend ministerial meeting on Jerusalem

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit left Cairo on Sunday 25/2/2018 for Brussels to attend the foreign ministerial meeting of  the Six-Party Arab Committee on Jerusalem and the European Union.

The meeting - due to kick off on Monday 26/2/2018 - falls within the framework of continued efforts exerted by the committee for consultations with international parties on the repercussions of a recent US decision on Jerusalem and means of reviving the Middle East peace process.

Shoukry will hold a number of tete-a-tete meetings with several foreign ministers on the efforts being exerted by Egypt to push forward the peace process and improve the humanitarian and economic conditions of the Palestinians.

The Six-Party Arab Committee comprises Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Palestine alongside the Arab League secretary general.

On Monday, Shoukry will head to Geneva to attend the 37th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
