Egyptian ambassador in Tokyo meets CAPMAS delegation

Egyptian ambassador in Tokyo Ayman Kamel had a meeting with a delegation of Egypt's Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
In a statement on Friday 02/03/2018, the Egyptian embassy in Tokyo said that the Egyptian ambassador had talks with the 13-member delegation grouping members of the CAPMAS departments, stressing the importance of benefiting from the Japanese in-house expertise in the statistics field.
The meeting falls within cooperation with the Statistics Bureau of Japan (SBJ) that is implementing the "Project for Developing Statistical Quality System at CAPMAS in Egypt.
The project is one of the projects implemented by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) through Official Development Assistance (ODA).
The SBJ , the Statistical Research and Training Institute (SRTI) in cooperation with the National Statistics Center (NSTAC) had cooperated in the implementation of the 2017 Population and Housing Census in Egypt.
Additionally, in this project, the SBJ provides cooperation and training in order to build and improve the capacity of CAPMAS staff for effective management for the 2017 Population and Housing Census and other statistical studies in Egypt.
The SBJ also plans to send statistical experts to CAPMAS and also accept trainees from CAPMAS.
