President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a telephone call from his US counterpart Donald Trump to discuss bilateral relations.
Spokesman for the presidency Bassam Rady said both sides discussed ways of boosting the strategic relations between the two countries.
He underscored that both presidents agreed to continue enhancing the cooperation between both countries in all fields during the coming period.
During the telephone call, the two leaders also discussed the latest developments in a number of regional issues in order to reach a political settlement for them, Rady explained.
He added that Sisi briefed Trump on the Egyptian efforts to combat terrorism, as Trump commended Egypt's efforts in this issue and stressed Washington's support for Egypt in the fight against terrorism.
