Presidential Elections Abroad

Head of the National Election Authority (NEA) Counselor Lashin Ibrahim said that the voting process in the presidential election for Egyptian expatriates started on Friday 16/3/2018 morning in 124 world countries.

Ibrahim said that the balloting process started at 9:00 a.m. and will last till 9:00 p.m. according to local times of each country.

Events

Immigration Minister Nabila Makram called on Egyptians, nationwide and abroad, to partake in the next presidential elections. The elections are planned to be held on March 16-18 for Egyptians abroad. Makram encouraged Egyptians abroad to participate in the electoral process.

 

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry inspected on Thursday 15/3/2018 the headquarters of the election committee at the Egyptian Embassy in Rome.

Patriarch of Alexandria Catholic Copts Anba Ibrahim Isaac called on Thursday 15/3/2018 on Egyptians to cast their ballots in the upcoming presidential election in March. In a statement, he urged Egyptians at home and abroad to actively vote in the upcoming presidential election.

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is following up preparations for expatriates voting in the presidential elections, that kicked off on Friday 16/3/2018. Shoukry was briefed by Egyptian diplomatic missions abroad and the elections operations room inside the ministry about the recent developments of the electoral process abroad.

Immigration Minister Nabila Makram confirmed that the Ministry's operations room is in contact with the communities abroad to follow up the voting process and is constantly following up to overcome any obstacles to the voting process.

Head of the National Election Authority (NEA) Counselor Lashin Ibrahim said that the authority did not receive any complaints about the voting process abroad in the presidential election that kicked off earlier on Friday 16/3/2018. In statements, he added that the electoral process is going on in full swing.

Spokesman for the National Election Authority (NEA) Mahmoud el Sherif said that the voting process in the presidential election for Egyptian expatriates is 'going well' , he said, adding that the NEA held contacts with the Egyptian embassies and consulates.

Assistant Secretary General of the Arab League (AL) Haifa abu Ghazala, who is also the head of the AL mission to follow up Egypt's presidential election has monitored the election process for the second day in a row, at the Egyptian embassy in Amman.

The operations room of the Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Ministry has reported a high turnout in the presidential elections in all countries, particularly Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait and Jordan.

Egypt's Ambassador to Kuwait received Egyptian parliament delegation to follow-up the electoral process.

Immigration Minister Nabila Makram said that the turnout for the Egyptian presidential election in New Zealand and Australia was high. The voting process went just fine over three days.

The electoral process kicked off in New Zeland on Thursday 15/3/2018, according to Cairo Local Time.

Egyptian expatriates in Australia started on Friday 16/3/2018 to flock at the Embassy headquarters in Canberra and the Egyptian consulates in Sydney and Melbourne to vote in the presidential election.

Egyptian expatriates in Saudi Arabia started on Friday 16/3/2018 voting in the Egyptian presidential elections. Egypt's embassy in Riyadh and its consulate in Jeddah opened their doors for voter to cast their ballots.
