Liverpool's Mohamed Salah has made history as the first Premier League star to be named Player of the Month three times in the same season, the Sun reported on Friday 13/04/2018.

Salah, 25, scored six goals in four matches for the Reds - including four in a thrashing at Watford and a crucial winner away at Crystal Palace.

The Egyptian star, who has 39 goals in all competitions, also picked up the award in November and February.

The Egypt international won 80 percent of an online poll to beat Tottenham's Dele Alli, Son Heung-Min and Jan Vertonghen and Manchester City's Leroy Sane and David Silva to the prize.

“I’m very proud to see myself fighting to break the [goalscoring] record for the Premier League. I’m thinking about each game. That’s my target, I want to score, I want to help the team to win again. It’s still five games to go, there’s a big chance, let’s see,” Salah said.
