During April 2018, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with a number of governmental officials to follow up the major projects being carried out across Egypt and the various investment opportunities available in all sectors.
The President also met with foreign officials to advance and develop joint cooperation relations, clarify Egypt's vision on the issues on the international scene and discuss the latest developments in the regional situations.
President Sisi's participation in the 29th Arab Summit to enhance joint Arab action and address the challenges and threats facing the Arab region, also his participation in the seven-day “Roots Revival” initiative, also known as "Nostos the Return" between Egypt, Cyprus and Greece.
President's meetings with officials
April 1: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Minister of Housing Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Antiquities Khaled el Anani, Minister of Tourism Rania Al Mashat, and Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Kamel el Wazir and issued directives to the government to continue efforts on the development of the tourism industry, which constitutes a key pillar of the national economy. Also, he ordered the government to consider the possibility for establishing giant tourism projects during the coming period to enhance the country's tourism potentials.
April 19: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker and directed to work on a plan that aims at enhancing the electricity system in Egypt.
Sisi attends seminar on Sinai Liberation anniversary (April 28, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended a seminar that is organized by the Armed Forces on the occasion marking Sinai Liberation. Attending the events also were Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Minister of Defense Colonel General Sedky Sobhy and several Cabinet ministers and statesmen.
President Sisi attends Labor Day ceremony (April 29, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has attended a ceremony organized by the Egyptian Trade Union Federation (ETUF) on the occasion of Labor Day. The event is attended by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Defense Minister Sedky Sobhy and a host of ministers and senior officials.

President Sisi welcomes Abu Dhabi CP (April 10, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Mohamed bin Zayyed al Nuhayyan, at Cairo International Airport. President Sisi welcomed the crown prince upon his arrival. Relations between Egypt and the UAE represent an excellent model of constructive strategic cooperation among Arab countries, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted, citing the UAE effective role in strengthening joint Arab action.
Portuguese President visits Egypt (April 11, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa at the Presidential Palace as part of Sousa’s official visit to Egypt to discuss boosting cooperation and bilateral relations in various fields.
Cypriot, Greek presidents Visit to Egypt (April 30, 2018)
President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi received the Presidents of Cyprus and Greece to launch the “Roots Revival” initiative, to honor foreign communities. The seven-day “Roots Revival” initiative, also known as “Nostos the Return”, comes as part of a cooperation protocol signed by the three countries last December. The protocol aims to bring Cypriots and Greeks, who used to live in Alexandria, back to the city.
April 4: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had talks with CEO of Visa International Alfred Kelly and several senior company officials. The President expounded at the meeting the Egyptian government's efforts for upgrading the system of financial services and stimulating the national economy.
April 4: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives Lahbib el Malk in the presence of Egypt’s Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal and the Moroccan ambassador in Cairo. President Sisi asserted appreciation for Moroccan stances in support of Egypt and its people’s choices. Sisi also lauded the positive development witnessed in Egypt-Morocco relations over the past period, noting that Cairo is keen on boosting these relations as well as holding meetings of the joint committee as soon as possible. Sisi hailed as strong bilateral relations between Egypt and Morocco in various fields, noting that they have been pushed by fruitful cooperation between the two countries’ parliaments.
April 11: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi expressed appreciation for Cyprus's support for Egypt, asserting that relations between the two countries are distinguished. During a meeting with Cypriot Foreign Minister Nicos Christodoulides, in the presence of his counterpart Sameh Shoukri and Cyprus's ambassador to Egypt, President Sisi underlined Egypt's keenness on enhancing cooperation with Cyprus in all fields.
April 18: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Board Chairman and CEO of French Orange Company Stéphane Richard in the presence of Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser el Qadi. The president praised during the meeting the business relations with Orange since the start of its work in Egypt 20 years ago, expressing hope for increasing cooperation in the investment domain within the framework of changing the state plan into a digital one. The president said that Egypt launched during the past years initiatives in the fields of communications and information technology to boost IT industries.
April 18: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi confirmed Egypt's keenness on promoting cooperation with Boeing International Company. At a meeting with Boeing President Marc Allen, president Sisi also underlined interest in increasing the company's activities in Egypt.
April 22: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has stressed the importance of cooperation with Kuwaiti investors to eliminate obstacles hindering investments in the Egyptian market. During a meeting with Mohamed Jassem Al-Sager, head of Kuwait's side to the Egypt-Kuwait Cooperation Council in the presence of Minister of Trade and Industry Tariq Qabil, the president highlighted the role of the private sector in promoting economic cooperation between Egypt and Kuwait to achieve mutual benefits. The president asked the Kuwaiti official to convey his greetings to Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah, praising the two countries' relations and ties between Egypt and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
April 24: During a meeting with European Union Climate Action and Energy Commissioner Miguel Arias Canete, President Sisi said Egypt's efforts in the electricity sector included building power stations and developing infrastructure of the electrical grid.
April 24: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met ABB Company CEO Ulrich Spiesshofer in Cairo, in the presence of Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker and the Swedish ambassador in Cairo. President Sisi stressed the importance of projects contribution to the transfer of technology to Egypt. President Sisi expressed Egypt’s appreciation for the current cooperation with the ABB Company and keenness on benefiting from its distinguished international expertise, expressing hope that ABB would contribute to implementing further projects in Egypt, mainly in electricity and renewable energy domains. Sisi reviewed Egypt’s economic reforms that have been carried out over the past few years, and measures have been adopted to remove obstacles that may face investors and companies operating in Egypt.
April 29: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi praised the close relations between Egypt and France in all fields. This came in a meeting between Sisi and French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, acting chief of general intelligence and the French ambassador in Cairo.
April 29: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed that Egypt is keen on establishing commercial and economic cooperation partnership with Japan. This remark came during Sisi's meeting with the Chairman of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Hiroyuki Ishige in the presence of Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil besides the Japanese ambassador in Cairo. Sisi welcomed Ishige, hailing the existing cooperation between Egypt and Japan in many fields. The president further pointed out to Egypt's appreciation for Japan at the public and governmental levels in light of the Japanese expertise acclaimed for its efficiency and accuracy.
29th Arab Summit
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi participated in the 29th Arab Summit which kicked off on 15/4/2018 in Dhahran City, Saudi Arabia, with many topics on its agenda, led by the Syrian crisis.
Joint Gulf Shield 1 drill
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi witnessed the conclusion of "Joint Gulf Shield 1" drill held in the Eastern Region in Saudi Arabia under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdel Aziz Al Saud in the presence of a number of leaders of sisterly and friendly countries participating in the one month exercise.
