President Abdel Fattah El Sisi lauded the positive development witnessed by cooperation between Egypt and Vietnam.
This came during his meeting Saturday 26/05/2018 with the visiting head of the communications and information committee of the ruling Communist Party of Vietnam and his accompanying delegation that grouped a number of the party's leaders, said presidential spokesman Bassam Rady.
Sisi welcomed the Vietnamese guests, pointing out to the historic and unique ties binding the two countries and noting his fruitful visit to Hanoi in September 2017, Rady said.
Sisi said that holding the first meeting of the commercial and industrial cooperation committee emerging from the joint ministerial panel in Cairo last April and the inking a number of memorandums of understanding (MoU) between both countries, reflect Egypt's keenness on promoting bilateral relations at various levels, the spokesman also said.
The President reviewed efforts exerted by Egypt to achieve economic reform and implement national projects, stressing his wish to enhance joint investments and boost Vietnamese tourism to the country.
The Vietnamese official pointed out to the attention paid by his country's government and ruling party to bolstering ties and cooperation with Egypt in all domains.
He further hailed Sisi's successful visit to Hanoi last year, adding that Vietnam has been keen on following up the outcome of the visit in order to contribute to promoting bilateral cooperation, the spokesman said.
He also said that the visiting official expressed Vietnam's appreciation of the pioneering role played by Egypt at the regional and international levels in addition to its efforts in fighting terrorism and achieving security, stability and peace in the Middle East.
