During May 2018, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with a number of governmental officials to follow up the major projects being carried out across Egypt and the various investment opportunities available in all sectors.
The President also met with foreign officials to advance and develop joint cooperation relations, clarify Egypt's vision on the issues on the international scene and discuss the latest developments in the regional situations.
President's meetings with officials
May 10: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt Tarek Amer. Sisi asserted the importance of taking all measures required to implement the economic reform program.

May 10: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Petroleum Minister Tarek El Molla. Sisi directed to continue efforts aiming at delivering natural gas to houses in order to enhance the standard of living of citizens. Sisi also called for continuing the development and establishment of oil and natural gas infrastructure.
May 19: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tareq el Molla, Finance Minister Amr el Garhy and acting chief of the General Intelligence Service Abbas Kamel.

May 21: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Tarek el Molla and Head of the Armed Forces' Financial Authority Mohamed Ameen Nasr besides other officials. Sisi gave directives to swiftly start implementing a project to build an integrated complex for oil refining and petrochemicals in Suez governorate besides another complex for hydrogen cracking of Mazut at Assiut Petroleum Refining Company (ASORC). The president said these two ventures will help secure the needs of local market from petroleum products and reduce exports, a matter that will save financial resources of the State within the framework of the well-management of the state-owned assets and resources.

May 23: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted the need to offer the best and most developed services at the New Administrative Capital and the new cities that are currently under implementation nationwide. “These cities will provide better services and quality of life to the citizens”, Sisi said, adding that they will also secure job opportunities as part of a comprehensive development framework. The president made the remarks at a meeting he held with Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouly in the presence of Yehia Zaki, Director of Operations of Dar al Handasah (house of engineering) company, Egypt. President Sisi highlighted the importance of continuing efforts to upgrade the infrastructure and provide constant maintenance to it, mainly sanitation and various facilities projects, in an effort to guarantee sustaining services offered to the citizens.
May 24: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gave directives to swiftly update electricity grids as scheduled to guarantee improving services offered to citizens nationwide especially in the Upper Egyptian governorates and remote areas. Sisi pointed out to the need of fulfilling Egypt's developmental needs from electric energy via increasing production especially in summer. The president ordered to swiftly finalize electricity linkage projects signed with neighboring countries, the matter which guarantees best economic management of electric energy around the year. During his meeting with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Electricity and Renewable Energy Minister Mohamed Shaker, Sisi followed up efforts of updating and developing the electricity sector.
May 26: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone Mohab Mamish. President Sisi issued directives to persist with the efforts exerted by the Suez Canal Authority and the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) with the aim of developing and improving the capabilities of the Suez Canal Authority.

May 29: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Sisi has stressed the importance of abiding by the highest educational standards of establishing new universities in Egypt with using the most up-to-date and efficient curricula. The president called for conducting exams for university students to assess their academic abilities and ensure the educational quality. The meeting tackled the latest developments in the educational process and means to develop the education system.
Field Tours
New Administrative Capital (May 11, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Friday 11/05/2018 went on an inspection tour of construction works in the New Administrative Capital.

President Sisi talked during his tour with officials in charge of the project and listened to an explanation of the work that is achieved so far.
Model African Union (May 13, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended sessions of the Model African Union. Representatives of 55 African countries are taking part in the event.
The sessions started with speeches, delivered by youths from participating countries, on challenges facing African countries and means to overcome them to secure a promising terror-free world full of job opportunities for youths.
Ask the president (May 15, 2018)
President Abdel Fatth El Sisi thanked citizens who participated in "Ask The President" initiative. "Thank you for your participation in Ask The President initiative.

5th National Youth Conference (May 16, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has attended the opening session of the fifth National Youth Conference with the participation of a large number of young people and representatives of political parties.
Sisi meets top military commanders (May 25, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with a number of top military commanders following the end of Friday prayers at Mosheir Tantawi Mosque in Cairo to greet them on the 6th of October (10th of Ramadan) war victory anniversary.
Army's iaftar banquet (May 26, 2018)

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended an Iftar banquet that was hosted by the Armed Forces on the occasion of the anniversary of the 10th of Ramadan war victory.

Ugandan President's Visit (May 8, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in Ittihadiya Palace upon arriving on a visit to Egypt. An official reception ceremony was held for the Ugandan leader. Several cooperation agreements were signed during the visit. The two leaders started talks on means of promoting relations and then hold a joint press conference.

Jordanian King's Visit (May 23, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted that Egypt is keen to coordinate with Jordan on various issues of mutual concern. The president's remarks came as he received Jordanian King Abdullah II, who paid an official visit to Cairo. The pair held a tete-a-tete meeting, which was followed by extended talks between the delegations of the two countries.

Foreign officials
May 1: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has stressed the importance of the decades-long relations between Egypt and the United States, saying that Egypt is keen on strengthening such relations. The President's remarks came in a meeting with a delegation from the Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA) in the presence of acting intelligence chief Abbas Kamel.
May 7: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has pressed for action to upgrade tourism sector, believing this is a major factor to counter terrorism and extremism. Tourism helps bring peoples closer and creates a favorable climate to achieve prosperity and progress, Sisi said during his meeting with Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
May 14: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted the importance of forming an Arab strategy to invest the potentials of youths in various fields to protect them against extremist thought and fabricated concepts. The president's remarks came during his meeting with Arab youth and sports ministers. Sisi asserted the importance of the role played by the Arab ministries of youth and sports in the current critical phase in the Arab world. The president underlined the importance of exchanging visits among Arab youth delegations on regular bases to strengthen ties at the popular level, adding that youth represent the majority of population in the Arab countries. Sisi listened to views of the Arab ministers who reiterated the vital role of Egypt in the Arab region in all fields.
May 14: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Laurent Nunez, the head of the French internal intelligence service, in the presence of Abbas Kamel, the acting director of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service. President Sisi welcomed the French official and asked him to convey his greetings to President Emmanuel Macron, highlighting the depth of Egyptian-French relations and cooperation between the two countries especially in the security and intelligence domains. President Sisi praised coordination and consultations between the two countries on regional and international issues of mutual concern, as well as efforts to fight terrorism.
May 15: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed Egypt's keenness on enhancing cooperation with the China Poly Group Corporation in the various fields and increasing its investments in Egypt particularly in light of the growing economic partnership with China and strategic relations between the two countries. During a meeting with Lin Wang, the Vice President of China Poly Group Corporation, President Sisi said the private sector plays a key role in promoting the relations through increasing investments, transferring knowledge and expertise and promoting trade exchange for the best interest of the two nations.
May 24: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Egypt is keen on attracting more German investments to Egypt to benefit from the considerable investment potentials in the country.

May 26: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi lauded the positive development witnessed by cooperation between Egypt and Vietnam. This came during his meeting with the visiting head of the communications and information committee of the ruling Communist Party of Vietnam and his accompanying delegation that grouped a number of the party's leaders.
May 29: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has hailed as "pivotal and strategic" the relations between Egypt and Sudan and welcomed increasing levels of coordination and consultation in all fields. The president made the remarks during a meeting with visiting Sudanese Foreign Minister Al Dirdiri Mohammed Ahmed in the presence of Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, Acting Director of General Intelligence Service Abbas Kamel and the Sudanese ambassador in Cairo.
