Mollah :Oil sector seeks to stop importation of LNG by end of this year

The oil sector in Egypt is acting to compensate for a natural decline in production from old fields, said Petroleum Minister Tareq el Molla on Monday 18/6/2018.

Work is also underway to increase productivity of natural gas to be able to achieve self-sufficiency and stop imports of liquefied gas by the end of this year, Molla said as he followed up the outcome of a project to upgrade the petroleum sector.

The project is meant to enhance the efficiency of production companies and increase productivity of gas fields, whether old or newly discovered.

A statement by the Petroleum Ministry pointed to an increase of daily gas production by about 1.5 billion cubic feet, plus 17,500 barrels of condensates.
