Minister of Tourism Rania el Mashat met with Chairman of Emaar Properties Mohamed Al Abbar to discuss the company's investment projects in the tourism sector in Egypt, especially in the north coast during the coming period.

The meeting tackled the participation of Emaar as a strategic shareholder in the Egyptian tourism investment fund, which aims to develop the sector through the financial restructuring of hotels and financially troubled tourist facilities by helping to ease their debt burdens and getting them up and running once again.

The minister praised Emaar's hotel investments in Marasy, pointing to the new El Alamein hotel, which was inaugurated Wednesday, and which Emaar Hospitality group of Emaar Properties has fully developed.

Mashat said that the company's interest in tourism investment in the north coast is in line with the state and political leadership's plans, which aim to develop this area and benefit from it throughout the year, not only in the summer.

She underlined that increasing the volume of investments in Egypt, especially in the north coast will contribute to sustainable development in this promising area, as well as creating job opportunities.
