President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted, during his visit to Sudan which was concluded earlier on Friday, Egypt's keenness on maintaining stability in Sudan, making it clear that Sudan's security is part and parcel of Egypt's national security, said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi.
This came during his meeting with a number of Sudanese political leaders, intellectuals and media people, the spokesman added.
Sisi also pledged Egypt's full support for Sudan at the regional and international levels in light of the deeply-rooted ties binding the two countries, the spokesman said.
The president also underlined that Egypt's foreign policy is based on the principle of not interfering in other countries' affairs, shoring up bilateral cooperation and development and entrenching the pillars of peace, he added.
Sisi stressed that the two countries are exerting genuine efforts to boost bilateral cooperation, noting that the Egyptian-Sudanese Higher Committee is scheduled to convene in Khartoum in October.
The president also made reference to joint projects that are currently implemented by the two countries, including power grid linkage and railway networks, the spokesman said.
Sisi also asserted the Egyptian government's keenness on strengthening economic cooperation and beefing up trade exchange with Sudan, he added.
He also stressed the importance of signing a media code of honor to uphold the higher interests of the two countries.
