Deal on measures of evaluating real estate tax on hotels signed

Friday، 31 August 2018 - 01:20 PM

A deal was signed between the finance and tourism ministries on the measures of evaluating the real estate tax on the hotel facilities.

Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli witnessed the signing ceremony between Finance Minister Mohamed Maait and Tourism Minister Rania el Mashat.

Mashat said the deal came to find out a suitable approach for calculating the real estate tax on hotel facilities, as hostels were usually faced by challenges due to failing in achieving occupancy rates.

Maait said the agreement was ideal, as it ensured both collecting the taxes and supporting the tourism sector, as a main pillar to the economy.

The agreement emerged after intensive consultations between the owners of the hotels, resorts and tourist investor associations.
