During August 2018, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi followed up the government's plans and achieved more files related to the local affairs, which contributes to advancing development, increasing growth rates and implementing measures that help to control the markets and attract investments to improve the living conditions of citizens.

On the foreign level, President Sisi met a number of foreign officials to discuss the development of relations in all fields and to exchange views on a number of international and regional issues of common concern.

The President's visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia came in the framework of strengthening the relations between the two countries and discussing the challenges facing the region.

President's meetings with officials

August 5: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting to follow up the work progress in implementing the fourth stage of the third line of the Underground Metro.

August 6: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting with Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt Tarek Amer. They reviewed activities of the banking sector and its role in funding investment movement in Egypt.

August 9: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting to review work progress at new cities being built across the nation, especially in Upper Egypt and the New Administrative Capital.

August 16: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed to attract high value-added investments, expand in small and medium-sized industries and entrench partnership between the public and private sectors. This came during the president’s meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Investment Minister Sahar Nassr, Trade Minister Amr Nassar and Public Business Sector Minister Hisham Tawfik.

August 25: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed to swiftly finalize preparations for launching the comprehensive health insurance project, putting into consideration the mechanization of the venture and various State institutions.

August 28: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reviewed with Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali the ministry's strategy for social development and protection programs.

August 28: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Finance Minister Mohammed Maait. The meeting tackled steps taken to end tax disputes in a manner that safeguards State's resources.

August 29: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi confirmed that Egypt is proud of its Coptic sons and their stories of success inside and outside the country. At a meeting with Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese and participants of the World Youth Forum of the Coptic Orthodox Church, the President added that national unity is well-established in Egypt throughout history.

Kings and Presidents

August 7: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi welcomed Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE's Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nuhayyan. They held talks on means of enhancing bilateral relations and reviewed the latest developments in a number of regional issues of mutual interest.

August 13: President Abdel Fatah El Sisi receives Yemen's President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi at the Ittihadiya presidential palace, which followed by a press conference.  They discuss during the meeting the situation in Yemen and its latest developments. 

August 27: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received his visiting Vietnamese counterpart Trần Đại Quang at Ittihadiya Palace for talks on bilateral cooperation. The meeting focused on efforts to increase trade and investment exchange. The two leaders are also witnessed the inking of a number of memorandums of understanding between their countries in the fields of trade, industry and investment.

Foreign officials

August 5: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received the Italian Foreign Minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi.

August 5: At a meeting with a Russian delegation, President Sisi expressed Egypt's keenness to further strengthen and develop relations with Russia at all levels, especially in commercial and industrial fields.

August 6: President Sisi met the Chairman of German Herrenknecht company Martin Herrenknecht in the presence of Transport Minister Hisham Arafat, Head of the Egyptian Armed Forces Engineering Authority Kamel el Wazir and assistant of the authority's head Ahmed Fouda.

During the meeting, President Sisi lauded the fruitful cooperation with the German firms, pointing out to its good reputation in the Egyptian market.

August 26: President Sisi stressed his keenness on boosting aspects of cooperation with Italy at all levels. During a meeting with visiting Italian Deputy Prime Minister Luigi Di Maio, the president welcomed the exchange of visits between the two countries' officials recently, saying that such visits put Egyptian-Italian relations back on the right track. The president also hailed great projects currently established by Italian energy firm Eni in Egypt.

President's Foreign Visits

August 14: President Sisi met King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, in the northern city of Naum at the invitation of His Majesty. During the meeting, they held consultations and exchanged views on the latest developments in the situation in the region and issues of common interest as well as the bilateral relations.

August 30: President Abdel Fatah El Sisi embarks on a three-legged Asian tour, visiting Bahrain, China and Uzbekistan. The first stop in Sisi’s foreign trip will be Bahrain, where he met Bahraini King Hamad bin Essa and a number of princes, ministers and senior officials. Both sides held discussions to brief each other on the latest developments in the bilateral relations, and seek ways to enhance them in addition to furthering coordination in regional issues of common interest between both countries.
