ASRT, NAM S&T Center ink MoU

The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Center for Science and Technology of the Non-aligned and Other Developing Countries (NAM S&T Center) on the sidelines of the center's executive office meeting in Colombo.
The memo was signed by Supervisor on scientific and cultural ties at ASRT Sameh Soror on behalf of ASRT head Mahmoud Saqr.
The meeting will run till Friday.
The MoU comes to enhance Egypt's pioneering historic role within the framework of its membership in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), said the Egyptian Embassy in Sri Lanka and Maldives on Thursday.
The MoU stipulates that Egypt provides five scholarships annually to the researchers of the NAM countries to get training at the ASRT laboratories in Cairo besides its affiliated institutions and research centers in the fields of medical sciences as well as plant and microbial biotechnology.
The NAM S&T Center Director General Arun Kulshreshtha expressed appreciation to the support offered by Egypt to the NAM member states in the training field.
