Sisi urges boosting coordination between police, army in anti-terror fight

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Thursday called for strengthening coordination between various security bodies and the Armed Forces to continue military victories achieved in the ongoing Comprehensive Operation Sinai 2018.


The operation has accomplished several strategic goals, which significantly contributed to undermining the capabilities of terror elements and preserving the country's security.


In a meeting with the Supreme Council of Police, President Sisi asserted the importance of going ahead with security plans and strategies based on launching pre-emptive strikes against terrorism and all forms of crime, spokesman for presidency Bassam Rady said.


The meeting reviewed the recent security situation nationwide, especially in light of the regional security and political challenges, the spokesman added.


It, also, took up the results yielded in confronting terrorism and crime, in addition to efforts exerted to preserve citizens' security, the spokesman noted.


At the end of the meeting, President Sisi thanked policemen for their great roles over the past period to maintain the country's stability and bring about development, the spokesman said.
