Communications Minister probes with Indian ambassador luring investments

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talat discussed with Indian Ambassador here Rahul Kulshreshth joint cooperation in the field of communications and IT.
The meeting took up supporting investments of the Indian firms working in designing and manufacturing electronics and providing the suitable atmosphere to them in Egypt via the new technological regions serving the Middle East, said a statement issued by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
The Minister referred to the measures taken by the State to lure foreign investments, the statement read.
Talat pointed out to a number of existing projects targeting developing the communications and IT sector within the strategy of the State to transform the society into a digital one.
The minister further referred to Egypt's attention paid to the domains of technological innovation, entrepreneurship and developing technological incubators.
For his part, Kulshreshth pointed out to the confidence of the Indian investor in the Egyptian economy as Indian investments in the country reached $3 billion in 2017.
The two sides agreed to promote bilateral cooperation in the field of training via organizing training courses.
Talat invited his Indian counterpart to visit Egypt to probe boosting joint cooperation in fields of mutual interest, the statement added.
