Egypt’s Mufti Shawki Allam said Friday that the world is in dire need to spread peace and security in the face of terrorism and conflicts that have plagued the world.
In a speech marking the International Day of Peace, Allam said the globe has been suffering from the woes of terrorism, violence, wars, violations against peoples, and occupations, especially in the Palestinian territories.
"Terrorism seeks to dominate the hearts and minds of youths either by force or spreading Takfiri and misleading fatwas on social network websites, and other medial platforms," said the Mufti.
He urged the world leaders, international community and agencies to concentrate efforts on ending conflicts and wars and supporting occupied peoples in gaining their liberation and legitimate rights. MENA
