Sisi, Trump meet in New York

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday 24/9/2018 conferred with his US counterpart Donald Trump in New York.

The two leaders are participating in the 73rd meetings of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, Trump hailed counter-terrorism efforts exerted by Egypt.

In turn, Sisi said the meeting reflects the depth of the Egyptian-US strategic relations.

President Sisi had a series of meetings earlier on the sidelines of his participation in the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly that included a meeting with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde who lauded Egypt's economic reform efforts over the last period and the bold steps and reforms the Egyptian government has made to push the development process forward, redress the budget deficit and reduce inflation rates in addition to other positive economic indicators which were achieved over a record time.
Also, Sisi conferred with his Lebanese counterpart Michel Aoun on means of boosting relations between the two nations, the latest developments in the Middle East and the vision of both on ways to end the pain and suffering of peoples in conflict-hit sisterly Arab countries.

He met as well Prime Ministers Boyko Borisov of Bulgaria and Erna Solberg of Norway.
