Presidential Activity September 2018

During September 2018, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has been intensive activity at both internal and external levels.

On the external level, President Sisi completing his Asian tour to China on a visit that takes a new dimensions in the relations between the two countries. After that, President Sisi paid a visit to the Uzbekistan to discuss ways of boosting relations between the two countries.

On the other hand, the President participated in the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, while participated also in the Mandela Peace Summit and chaired FMs 42nd annual meeting of the Group of 77 States and a high-level dialogue on the implementation of the Paris Convention on Climate Change.

On the internal level, President Sisi inspected a number of development projects at Jabal al-Jalalah, and also witnessed the inauguration of the military hospital in Menoufia and a number of Japanese schools.

On the other hand, the President received a number of government officials as part of the periodic monitoring of the executive steps of the development projects and the security file.

September 12: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gave his orders to push forward with plans to initiate the National Comprehensive Health Insurance Project. This came during the president's meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed.


September 12: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed officials to exert utmost efforts to increase the rates of the ships transiting the Suez Canal with the aim of boosting foreign currency revenues. The President urged adopting a flexible marketing policy in dealing with the shipping lines. This came at a meeting that President Sisi held with Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) and the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCEZone) Mohab Mamish.

September 30: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gave directives to provide best services in new cities being implemented nationwide and abide by the scheduled implementation dates. The President further stressed the importance of finalizing all the utilities and services according to the most up-to-date international techniques of construction to offer a better standard of living for citizens.

September 8: President Sisi met Chairman of the US Central Command Joseph Votel.

September 16: President Sisi met President of the European Council Donald Tusk and the Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz.

September 17: President Sisi met Italian Chamber of Deputies Speaker Roberto Fico, in the presence of House of Representatives Speaker Dr Ali Abdel Aal.

President Sisi embarks a tour that will take him to Bahrain, China and Uzbekistan.

Beijing Visit

President Sisi heads for Beijing to attend the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) which is an important event for giving momentum to relations between China and African countries. President Sisi and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping held bilateral consultations followed by an extended session in the presence of the delegations of the two countries.



Uzbekistan visit

President Sisi held talks with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev and a number of ministers and top officials on means of developing bilateral relations.



Egyptian participation in UNGA 73

September 21: The 73rd session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 73) opened on 18 September 2018 at the UN Headquarters in New York in the presence of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. Sisi is also participated in the celebration, which held on the sidelines of the UN general Assembly, with the centennial of the late African leader Nelson Mandela, for his place and sacrifices as a symbol of the continent's symbols, especially as Egypt will head the African Union in January. On the sidelines of the session, President Sisi also met leaders of States and governments to discuss means of bilateral cooperation.
