President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had talks in Crete on Wednesday 10/10/2018 with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras ahead of an Egyptian-Greek-Cypriot summit due to be held in Crete later in the day.
Sisi arrived early on Wednesday 10/10/2018 to attend the three-way summit.
The three leaders are scheduled to hold a press conference at the conclusion of their summit talks.
An agreement on social insurance between Egypt and Greece is expected to be signed on the fringe of the summit.
Also, four memoranda of understanding among the three countries will be clinched to cover cooperation in the domains of small- and medium-sized enterprises, investments and customs.
This is the sixth summit of the leaders of the three nations . Their first was held in Cairo in 2014.
The Crete summit aims at building upon what has been achieved in the past five summits as well as evaluating cooperation between Egypt, Greece and Cyprus in different fields, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said in earlier statements.
The summit will also discuss boosting political talks and consultations among the three countries as regards facing challenges besetting the Middle East and the Mediterranean region.
