President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived on Thursday at the El Manara International Convention Center (MICC) where he attended the 29th cultural symposium of the Armed Forces.
The symposium is titled as "October. Continuity of Generations". The event is held as part of celebrations of the 45th anniversary of October War victory. The symposium coincides with the Armed Forces' celebrations of the 45th anniversary of October War victory.
The event started by reciting versus of the Holy Quran. Then the attendees paid tribute to the previous president and Nobel Peace Laureate Anwar el Sadat who is the "hero of war and peace" as the inscription on his grave reads.
Defense and Military Production Minister Mohamed Zaki, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli attended the event rather than a number of senior statesmen, prominent public figures, as well as police and army top brass.
A documentary about the heroes of the 1973 October War and touching scenes of the battlefield was screened as part of the symposium's activities. The documentary also featured one of Egypt's moments of glory; the fall of the 100-kilometer supposedly impregnable fortification of Bar Lev Line.

The documentary also displayed the great achievements in Sinai during the era of President Sisi, topped by Martyr Ahmed el-Mansy Floating Bridge, the New Suez Canal, in addition to the ongoing reconstruction process in Sinai.
