SIS: President Sisi's visit to Russia new stage in joint ties

The State Information Service (SIS) said on Monday 15/10/2018 that the visit being paid by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Russia has a great importance in the light of indications that the summit between Sisi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin will launch new stage in promoting bilateral relations.
In a report issued on the occasion of Sisi visit, SIS said that the joint ties witnessed concrete developments in various fields over the past five years, adding that this is the fourth visit for President Sisi to Russia.
The report mentioned that Russia is one of Egypt's main commercial partners as trade exchange between the two countries reaches $6.5 billion annually.
An agreement to start work on Egypt's Dabaa nuclear power plant was inked with Russia on December 11, 2017 which is the biggest project between the two countries since implementing the High Dam project, the report added.
Both projects have strategic importance as modern technology has been used for the welfare of the Egyptian people, the report stressed.
The two leaders will also probe, during the summit, the latest regional developments in Syria, Libya and Yemen.
Both sides agreed to establish the Russian industrial zone in east Port Said region affiliated to the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).
The report further pointed out to the deeply-rooted profound historic relations between Egypt and Russia.
