President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived on Sunday 28/10/2018 on a four-day visit to participate in the G20 Compact with Africa summit at an invitation from German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Sisi will hold mini-summits with African leaders and heads of State who are members of the G20 Partnership with Africa.
Sisi is also scheduled to have bilateral talks with Merkel, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Bundestag (the parliament) President Wolfgang Schäuble.
He will also convene with other German top officials and businessmen to review regional and international issues of mutual concern as well as bilateral ties.
Egypt's Ambassador to Germany Badr Abdel Aati said President Sisi's visit to Germany is very important as it comes two months before Egypt's chairmanship of the African Union and Germany's non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council. This requires promoting consultations, exchanging views and coordinating stances regarding various regional and international issues, mainly development in Africa.
Egypt's Embassy in Berlin, in cooperation and coordination with the German ministries of economy and economic cooperation, will organize a roundtable meeting to be attended by President Sisi, with a number of heads of German companies that have investments in Egypt and those who wish to enter the Egyptian market in the various sectors, he added.
