Sisi lauds development of economic ties with Germany

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met at his residence on Monday 29/10/2018 with German Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said.
President Sisi hailed the developments which Egyptian-German ties have witnessed, particularly at the economic level, welcoming the fifth session of the Egyptian-German Joint Economic Committee, slated for February 2019 in Egypt.
Egypt is looking forward to the participation of a large delegation of German businessmen and investors alongside Altmaier to get acquainted with investment opportunities in the country in various sectors, Sisi said during the meeting.
Sisi stressed that Egypt's presidency of the African Union in 2019 is a great opportunity for boosting cooperation with the German government and companies, a matter which will be fruitful to G20 Africa Partnership.
The talks touched on aspects of bilateral cooperation, as the president pointed to the positive outcomes that Egypt achieved in the energy sector, welcoming strength of economic and trade relations with Germany.
Cairo is the third biggest trade partner of Berlin in the Middle East, he noted, looking forward to the entry of more Egyptian products to the German market.
Altmaier, for his part, lauded the developments that Egypt has witnessed over the past years, affirming Berlin's commitment to developing the level of partnership with Cairo in light of its unique regional position.
The German minister said his country is keen on fostering cooperation with Egypt in joint projects and increasing German investments in Egypt.
