Sisi receives German interior minister

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received at his residence on Wednesday 31/10/2018 Federal Minister of the Interior Horst Seehofer.
President Sisi asserted the importance of intensifying cooperation between Egypt and Germany in the fields of training, skills building, exchanging information and providing tools that help enhance Egypt's potentials of combating terror and illegal immigration.
President Sisi welcomed cooperation between Egypt and Germany within the framework of the security cooperation agreement signed in July 2016 and cooperation in combating illegal immigration which has witnessed a great development after signing the relevant cooperation agreement on August 27, 2017.
The Egyptian leader praised progress witnessed in Egyptian-German relations particularly security cooperation and fighting terrorism and extremism.
He said he is looking forward to more cooperation between the two sides in various fields, Presidency Spokesman Bassam Radi said.
The president underlined the need to intensify efforts of the international community to eradicate these problems through supporting economic and social development efforts.
The German minister expressed appreciation of the achievements reached by the Egyptian government in terms of economic and social reform and establishing security and stability particularly that Egypt has succeeded to halt illegal immigration from its shores and achieved tangible progress in fighting terrorism, he added.
The German minister welcomed the Egyptian leader's visit to Berlin and asserted keenness on promoting cooperation with Egypt in the fields of security cooperation and coordination, he said.
