President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed on Tuesday 6/11/2018 that he does not want media voices that support the regime but rather those which support Egypt.
"We are seeking to correct the fake awareness that has accumulated over the years," the president said during a meeting with foreign media representatives in Egypt on the sidelines of the World Youth Forum.
"The Egyptian media does not play a real role in shedding light on challenges and problems facing the Egyptians which paves the way for social media, with all its negativity, to fill up this empty space," the President said.
When foreign observers see Egypt's problems they perceive them from a European perspective without being aware of the crises Egypt has gone through. "The state has reached tangible achievements over the past few years not only in the infrastructure field but in social and cultural domains as well," the president said, referring to the inauguration of three of the largest museums in June 2020.
Asked by BBC about the freedom of the press in Egypt, the president called on the broadcaster's supervisors to delve into Egypt's social issues and to understand them carefully and also to collect information and data from certified and official sources.
