Tourism min. meets British Parliament MPs

Tourism Minister Rania el Mashat met with a number of members of the British Parliament grouping the Houses of Commons and Lords besides representatives of international tourist firms.

She met also with a group of British politicians besides Egyptian businessmen and expatriates in Britain.

This came during the "Egyptian Night" organized by the Tourism Ministry on the sidelines of London tourism bourse, said a statement released by the ministry on Thursday.

The "Egyptian Night" was attended by a galaxy of public figures such as Cherie Blair, the wife of former British prime minister Tony Blair and Former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini in addition to representatives of British media and newspapers, the statement read.

During the ceremony, Mashat reviewed her ministry's vision to upgrade the Egyptian tourist sector, stressing keenness on promoting cooperation with the private sector and international tourist firms and tour operators.

A promotional film on the Egyptian tourist attractions was displayed during the ceremony, the statement added.
