Abdel Aal meets Belarus president

Egypt's House of Representatives Speaker Ali Abdel Aal called on Thursday for enhancing economic cooperation with Belarus and pumping more investments into the Egyptian market.


During his meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, Abdel Aal called for restoring the high numbers of Belarus tourists to Egypt.


He conveyed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's regards to President Lukashenko.


He said the latest visit of Lukashenko to Egypt in January 2017 was an important stop in the history of relations between the two countries, expecting further development of these relations with the projected visit of Sisi to Minsk in 2019.


He stressed that the strong relationship between the two countries' political leaderships gives impetus to the development of bilateral relations in various fields.


He said his meeting with the speakers of the two houses of parliament of Belarus is a step on the way to activate parliamentary cooperation between the two countries in a way that serves the interests of the two peoples.


Lukashenko welcomed Abdel Aal's visit, saying Egyptian-Belarus relations are based on friendship and mutual respect.


He praised economic reform efforts in Egypt and steps taken to achieve security and stability.


He reiterated Belarus' support of Egypt in face of terrorism.
