President Sisi underscored importance of continuing joint coordination between Egypt and Sudan

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi underscored the importance of continuing joint coordination between Egypt and Sudan with regard to the region’s current security challenges and means of maintaining peace and security in the region and the whole Africa.
Sisi’s remarks came during his meeting on Tuesday 4/12/2018 with Sudanese Defense Minister Awad Ibn Ouf in the presence of Egyptian Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki and head of the General Intelligence Service Abbas Kamel in addition to the Sudanese ambassador in Cairo.
The president also asserted the necessity of promoting prospects of military cooperation and exchanging expertise between the two countries’ Armed Forces, particularly in the fields of training, security and intelligence cooperation as well as military manufacturing, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement.
Sisi asked Ibn Ouf to convey his greetings to Sudanese President Omar al Bashir, lauding the strength of historic ties binding Cairo and Khartoum.
Meanwhile, Ibn Ouf asserted the depth of close relations between Egypt and Sudan, stressing his country’s keenness to boost cooperation with Cairo in all fields, especially the security and military ones.
On that score, the Sudanese minister pointed out to the Egyptian defense minister’s latest visit to Sudan, during which they discussed means of activating cooperation between the two countries at several levels, topped by coordination to monitor borders, prevent organized crimes as well as to combat terrorism and illegal immigration.
