Palestinian President’s Visit to Egypt

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed the strength of historical relations between Egypt and Palestine, pointing out that the Palestinian cause will continue to be a priority in Egypt's foreign policy.
Speaking during a meeting with visiting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Sisi stressed Egypt's continued efforts to restore the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Sisi also affirmed Egypt's constant efforts with the Palestinian factions to achieve national reconciliation, promising to work to overcome all the difficulties facing these efforts in order to achieve Palestinian unity and serve the interests of the brotherly Palestinian people, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said.
For his part, the Palestinian president expressed his sincere appreciation for Egypt's efforts and its historic and steadfast positions in supporting the Palestinian cause, pointing out to the depth and uniqueness of relations between the two brotherly peoples.
He praised Egypt's efforts in achieving reconciliation among the Palestinian factions.
Abbas also stressed his keenness to continue consultations and coordination with Egypt on various issues of common concern.
The two presidents agreed to continue intensive consultations and coordination between them in order to follow up on the next steps in terms of unifying the Palestinian factions.
