The 37th Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee (PRC) of the African Union will open on Tuesday 15/1/2019 to prepare for the upcoming AU summit.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will receive the African Union chairmanship at this summit scheduled for February 10-11 in the Ethiopian capital.
African permanent representatives will probe during the two-day session, issues tabled on the 32nd African summit agenda to be held under the theme: “Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons: Towards Durable Solutions to Forced Displacement in Africa”.
The meeting will bring together all the Ambassadors of the 55 African Union member states based in Addis Ababa and key AU officials.
The African Union announced that the PRC will prepare the agenda of the 32nd AU Summit with appropriate recommendations which will be referred for consideration by the AU Executive Council during a meeting at the level of foreign ministers, scheduled to take place on February 7-8.
