Your Excellency President of the Republic of South Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit,
Excellencies, members of the accompanying delegation,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
At the beginning, I would like to welcome my dear brother, President Silva Kiir Mayardit, and the accompanying delegation in their second country, Egypt. I would like to express my deep appreciation and profound gratitude for your visit, which sincerely embodies the ties of brotherhood between the two peoples that have always been linked, through ages, by close relations, common interests, history and civilization, and a continuous interaction that we are always keen to strengthen and enhance on all levels through the existing cooperation frameworks between the two countries.
I assure you that Egypt is keen to support the stability and security of the people of South Sudan and strengthen relations between the two countries on all levels, based on their common and growing interests in order to consolidate cooperation and coordination on the official and popular levels in a way that keeps pace with the aspirations, brotherly relations of our peoples as well as their genuine desire for joint cooperation to achieve progress and prosperity for the two brotherly countries.
Egypt and South Sudan relations have witnessed an unprecedented boom in various aspects of cooperation, paying attention to the fact that Egypt has been one of the first supporters of the emerging State of South Sudan and will always remain a brotherly supporter of the people of the South. Moreover, the Nile River will also remain a historical symbol of the relations and ties between our two peoples.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Our discussions today have shown the determination of the two countries to give a push to the bilateral relations to reach greater horizons, and the level of strategic partnership to enable us realize the optimum available opportunities of the economic and investment cooperation between the two countries. Our discussions have also witnessed an exchange of views and a coordination concerning the regional issues of common interest.
South Sudan has witnessed a great momentum after the activated peace agreement had come into force, which opened the way to restore stability in the country and enable development wheel to proceed towards the prosperity of the people of South Sudan.
In this regard, I would like to assure the brotherly people of South Sudan that Egypt will always back your efforts in peace-building, reconstruction, stability and development. We are committed to providing all forms of political and technical support to reach the full implementation of the activated peace agreement, as well as boosting cooperation in education, health, agriculture and irrigation sectors through the existing mechanisms in this regard, in a way that contributes to the sustainable development of the peoples of the two countries. We also call on the international community to fulfill its commitments and obligations towards South Sudan in its march towards a better future.
Your Excellency Mr. President,
I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the constructive role you play in the regional arena, particularly your efforts to mediate between the Sudanese government and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-In-Opposition ( SPLM-IO) in the north of Sudan, and the supporting role of South Sudan to the current approach among the countries of the region to settle disputes in a framework of transparency, common interest and respect of State-sovereignty.
Dear brother, welcome again in your homeland. We appreciate your presence today with us as a dear guest in your second country Egypt.
