El-Saeed approves LE 47 mln for Aswan as a capital of African Youth

Planning Minister Hala el Saeed agreed to increase the 2018/2019 financial allocations of the Upper Egyptian governorate of Aswan to 47 million pounds.

In a statement, she said the sum will be channeled into carrying out development works in the governorate in preparation for hosting the African-Arab Youth Forum.

In November, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi declared Aswan as a capital of African youth in 2019.

Around 25 million pounds will be earmarked for developing Nile Corniche and the tourist market in Aswan.

She said Aswan took the lion share of government investments directed to Upper Egyptian governorates with a 32-percent share accounting for 4.24 billion pounds.

She said ten projects worth 42.45 million pounds were carried out in the governorate during the first quarter of the 2018/2019 government program, she added.
