Foreign Ministry: Prompt implementation of AfCFTA agreement top priority of Egypt's AU presidency

Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Khaled Emara said that Egypt gives top priority to accelerating the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement during its presidency of the African Union (AU).
Addressing the General History of Africa conference, he said that Egypt works to support African development agenda 2063 to carry out development projects, boost trans-national and trans-regional infrastructure and establish a consortium for investment in infrastructure projects.
The Egyptian diplomat also said that Egypt works strenuously on establishing peace and security in the African continent, highlighting its efforts for the prevention and resolution of African conflicts in collaboration with African and international friends.
He added that Egypt is keen on deepening strategic dialogue between the AU and the Arab League and extending bridges of cultural communication among African peoples in cooperation with international partners.
