President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and other African leaders taking part in the opening session of the African Union Summit on Sunday 10/2/2019 took part in unveiling a statue of late Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie erected at the AU headquarters in appreciation of his efforts in establishing the Organization of African Unity (now the African Union) and supporting cooperation and relations among the African states.

President Sisi was accompanied by his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the president of the African Union Commission along with other leaders who participated in the ceremony.
