Egypt's Cultural Attache in Mauritania Nashaat Deif asserted that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's chairmanship of the African Union would regain the Africans' confidence.
Addressing a seminar held at the Egyptian Cultural Center, Deif noted that the African continent would achieve a big progress over the current year.
He said Mauritanians and other Africans are viewing Sisi's chairmanship of the AU as an important step at the onset of 2019.
Africans are currently pining much hope on a strong return of Egypt's role in Africa, thanks to the wise leadership of Egypt, he added.
President Sisi is seeking to bolster Egypt's cooperation ties with all African states at the political, cultural and development levels, added Deif.
African nations consider the Egyptian role as a cornerstone of a new and strong beginning for Egypt in Africa, he added.
