Culture Minister Enas Abdel Dayem said on Monday 18/2/2019 that Aswan's hosting of a myriad of cultural and artistic events during the current period conveys a strong message to the world that Egypt witnesses stable security conditions.
Those events, being attended by 23 folk art troupes, come as the Upper Egypt governorate is celebrating the alignment of the sun on the face of Ramses II's statue from Feb 17 to Feb 22.
Delivering a speech at the opening of the seventh session of Aswan International Festival of Culture and Arts, the minister said the numerous cultural and artistic activities, hosted by Aswan, coincide with Egypt's presidency of the African Union (AU) in 2019.
For his part, Aswan Governor Ahmed Ibrahim said the governorate has all potentials to receive tourists of different nationalities.
In a related context, Chairman of the General Authority for Culture Palaces Ahmed Awad, thanked all security and executive bodies at the governorate for all facilitation offered to ensure the success of such artistic and cultural festivals.
