President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday said Egypt looks forward to enhancing cooperation with Romania in all fields.
He pointed out that Egypt seeks to have constant coordination and consultation with Romania on issues of mutual interest, particularly in the current period in light of Egypt’s chairmanship of the African Union and Romania’s presidency of the European Union.
Sisi received Romanian President Klaus Iohannis on Saturday in Sharm El Sheikh, where the first Arab League-European Union summit will kick off on Sunday.
The president praised the good relations between both countries, particularly in economic, trade and tourism sectors, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said.
Iohannis hailed Sisi’s efforts on internal stability, security, economic reform, development and terrorism-combat.
He reiterated that the organization of the summit by Egypt reflects Cairo’s important role in the Middle East and Africa, Radi added.
