Sisi welcomes Albanian president on his first visit to Egypt

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi welcomed on Wednesday 27/2/2019 Albanian President Ilir Meta on his first visit to Egypt.
Sisi, during a press conference with Meta, said the visit will give a new strong impetus to relations between the two countries.
He said talks with the Albanian president tackled economic, political and cultural relations.
He underlined the importance of holding meetings of the joint committee grouping the foreign ministers of the two countries.
Sisi said they agreed on forming a committee to foster parliamentary relations and set up a joint business council.
Talks covered furthering bilateral cooperation in the tourism and energy domains.
Sisi said the meeting was a chance to exchange viewpoints towards the Middle East developments and the situation in the Balkans.
The Albanian president said his talks with Sisi covered enhancing bilateral cooperation in all domains and anti-terrorism efforts.
Meta expected fruitful cooperation to take place between the two countries in the future.
He expressed appreciation for the support offered by Egypt to Albania in the educational and agricultural domains.
He also thanked Sisi for his tireless efforts in achieving security and stability in the Mediterranean region.
He lauded economic reforms carried out by Egypt.
Meta invited Sisi to visit Albania, saying his visit will play a great role in enhancing relations between the two countries.
He offered his condolences to the families of the victims of this morning's train tragedy at Ramses railway station.
A train locomotive rammed into the station's buffer stop at the end of the rail tracks, causing a huge fire and leaving casualties, the Railway Authority said in a statement earlier.
Twenty people were killed and 42 others wounded in the fire, according to the latest count by the Health Ministry.
