Sisi: Egypt keen to support peace efforts in South Sudan

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed on Wednesday 13/3/2019 Egypt's keenness on supporting efforts to restore peace and stability in South Sundan as soon as possible.
Egypt will work in this respect through supporting the South Sudan peace agreement at the bilateral level or within its chairmanship of the African Union, President Sisi said during a meeting here with a delegation of the National Pre-Transitional Committee (NPTC) which is tasked with the oversight and coordination of the implementation of the activities of the pre-transitional period in South Sudan.
Egypt will also coordinate with the regional and international parties concerned to discuss means of exerting efforts to support the implementation of the peace agreement and highlight efforts of the Southern Sudanese parties in terms of implementing the agreement within the set timetable, the president added as quoted by Presidency Spokesman Bassam Radi.
President Sisi asked the delegation, led Tut Kew Gatluak, to convey his greetings to South Sudan President Salva Kiir and stress Egypt's concern with backing South Sudan to reach security and stability, Radi added.
Gatluak conveyed Kiir's greetings to President Sisi and reiterated keenness on enhancing fraternal ties between the two countries at all levels, he said.
He expressed his country's wish that Egypt would continue to play its active role regionally and internationally to help the people of South Sudan to reach their aims.
