Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said on Saturday 16/03/2019 that the state seeks to implement modern systems to promote external trade and improve the efficiency of customs clearance operations.
Egypt had introduced the single-window system at the Cairo International Airport and reduced the container-handling costs in order to lower the goods prices, the premier noted during his inspection tour at the airport's logistics center.
The premier was accompanied by Investment Minister Sahar Nasr, Finance Minister Mohamed Maait, Civil Aviation Minister Younes el Masry, Planning Minister Hala el Saeid, and Information and Communications Technology Minister Amr Talaat.
The new customs system will facilitate the clearance of imports into the Egyptian market, a matter which lures more investors to do business in Egypt, he added.
Maait, for his part, said that the new system will be implemented at all customs outlets nationwide by mid-2020.
