Chairman of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki stressed on Sunday 31/3/2019 the importance of beefing-up the Arab-African cooperation in the fields of peace and security in the Red Sea, Libya, and Somalia.

Addressing the 30th Arab Summit, held in Tunisia, he said the African Union developed effective partnerships with the United Nations and the European Union in the domains of development, security, peace, and governance.

The AU official hailed Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Abul Gheit's role in upgrading the level of partnership between the Pan-Arab body and the AU, wishing that this summit would result in fruitful outcomes which will contribute to boosting Arab-African cooperation.

This summit's timing is very good for it comes shortly after the convocation of the Arab and African Youth Platform in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, where young people from the Arab and African countries were given the opportunity to come together and share visions on common challenges including those related to peace and migration, he concluded.
