Egypt’s participation in 30th regular Arab Summit

The 30th regular Arab Summit kicked off in Tunis on Sunday 31/3/2019, with the participation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Arab leaders and Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) António Guterres.

The two-day summit will tackle a host of Arab issues, especially the Palestinian issue and the crises in Syria and Libya. It will also address the status of Al Quds and Golan Heights

Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz, the chairman of the previous summit, was first to address the attendees. King Salman handed over presidency of the summit to Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi, who will then speak to the gathering.

Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit will deliver his speech afterwards.

The first session will start later in the day with Arab leaders delivering their speeches at the summit.

The agenda of the summit will then be endorsed and discussed, as well as draft resolutions reached by the leaders.

A Tunis declaration will be issued at the closing session which will be followed by a press conference.

Addressing the 30th Arab summit, Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit said Arab national security faced serious threats over the past few years, asserting that political solutions are the only way to put an end to regional conflicts and bring about stability. More

In his address after receiving the summit chairmanship from Saudi King Salman Bin Abdel Aziz, Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi announced terming the 30th ordinary Arab Summit as the Summit of Determination and Solidarity. More

In his address before the 30th ordinary Arab Summit, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said there is no way out of the Arab-Israeli conflict except through reaching a just and comprehensive peaceful solution that returns the rights of the Palestinian people, namely their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. Addressing the 30th Arab Summit, Chairman of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki stressed the importance of beefing-up the Arab-African cooperation in the fields of peace and security in the Red Sea, Libya, and Somalia. More
