Egypt & Lebanon discuss problems of workers

Egyptian Manpower Minister Mohamed Saafan and Camille Abousleiman of Lebanon have conferred on conditions of workers in both countries.

Meeting on the sidelines of the 46th Arab labor conference,
the two ministers also discussed mechanisms needed to solve workers' problems.

Abousleiman told Saafan he is working on a mechanism to prevent corruption
related with the recruitment of workers, which in some cases changes
into a form of human trafficking.

He assured Saafan that he is also acting to solve problems
facing Egyptian workers in Lebanon as soon as possible.

Saafan directed the Ministry's central department of foreign relations
to contact the labor advisor at the Egyptian Embassy in Beirut to
make sure workers legalize their status quo to be able
to live a decent life in Lebanon.
