Sisi: Army, police cornerstone of security for Egypt

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said the army and police are the cornerstone of security for Egypt, noting that their personnel are sacrificing their lives to defend the nation.
The Egyptian people appreciate their loyal national role in protecting Egypt’s national security and safeguarding its sacred places, Sisi said after he performed Friday prayers in New Cairo on the occasion of the 10th of Ramadan victory anniversary, which coincided then with the October 6, 1973 War.
The prayers were attended by Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb, Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and Grand Mufti Shawqi Allam.
Following the prayers, President Sisi met with senior commanders of the Armed Forces and greeted them on the 10th of Ramadan victory anniversary.
Sisi also expressed appreciation for the country’s fallen heroes, stressing that the state will not forget the martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the sake of the homeland.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Defense Mohamed Zaki and Army Chief of Staff Mohamed Farid, in addition to several top military brass.
